“Survival Box” for Moving Day

Ok, what the heck is a “survival box”.  This is the box that you don’t want the movers to touch.  Once you have the furniture and boxes moved to the moving van, you may have to clean all the dust bunnies that have been collecting.  So your first item in the survival box will be some essential cleaning supplies such as:

Survival Box

  • All-purpose cleaner
  • Broom & Dust Pan
  • Vacuum
  • Mop
  • Sponges
  • Rubber Gloves
  • Cleaning Towels

Other items to consider for the survival box for your arrival at the new residence could be but not limited to:

  • Toilet Paper
  • Hand Soap
  • Water Bottles
  • Paper Towels

If you have children or pets, you might want to add snacks and dog food.  Extra cash and a first aid kit would be two other items to consider.  Think about your medications, passports, and an extra checkbook going in the survival box.  It is a good practice to sit down before your move happens and determine any other items that you feel would be essential going in your “survival box” on moving day.
