5 Timesaving Packing Tips

The decision to move is exciting, but having to pack up everything you own can kill the excitement in a matter of minutes. You can always hire your moving company to do the packing for you, but to be more economical and to have things done your way; it is a smart choice to do your own packing. The following tips are to help the packing process run smoothly.

1. Supplies you will need Purchase packing supplies early. Wardrobe boxes, packing tape, bubble wrap, newspaper, book boxes, Ziploc baggies, and markers.

2. Inventory Make a note of what will be moving to your new residence and what will be going to storage or giving away. Another great idea is to photograph any unique or valuable items.

3. Start packing early It is always a good idea to start packing earlier then you think. Packing takes much more time than anticipated, start with things you don’t have to use in your daily life. Be sure to clearly label each box so you can get to whatever you need if necessary.

4. Fragile Items When packing your fragile items don’t be concerned with using too much paper or bubble wrap, because in the end using too much is better then a broken valuable item. Again make sure to label the box fragile so the movers will handle with extra care and put it on top.

5. Bulky things Anytime you disassemble something, make sure you keep all the parts together, such as taping your bed frame parts together and putting the screws in a plastic bag and labeling them.

If you are unsure and concerned about packing something you can always ask your moving company to do it for you to ensure the protection and safe arrival.
